Going against the grain is something that only certain people in history have been able to accomplish. Women in our history have managed to make it happen over the decades. Some of these trend setters were Madonna and Marilyn Monroe. Both embraced themselves and stood out from the crowd the message of Sex and the City is just that. Don't be ashamed of yourself, age, weight, blemishes, accept it all because your flaws are what sets you apart. If everyone had the perfect body, complexion, and features none of us would be anything special there would be nothing to make us unique or let us be an individual. Being a woman no matter what age is an amazing gift and we should all cherish it. That is the message portrayed in the opening credits of this show and I personally agree that it is a lesson we should all be taught throughout our years. Womens rights and the right to be open about sex and dating have come so far. Thanks to shows like Sex and the City which have opened many doors. A quote from Marilyn Monroe sums it all up. “I'm trying to find myself as a person, sometimes that's not easy to do. Millions of people live their entire lives without finding themselves. But it is something I must do.”

  1. From a guys point of view, Sex and the City is not a bad show at all. The characters are very interesting and it isn't the worst show I have seen. I agree that it provides a great message for women of this generation to be proud of who they are. Also, a nice quote you mentioned.
