We can’t just let kids be kids anymore. The simple fact is that not only should children be able to enjoy the wonders of the ocean but so should adults. So stop reading to your kids about the “dangers of the deep” let them know that there is such an animal as a shark and that if they see one they should leave the water. Then let them go play in the ocean you can worry about the terrifying triangle fin popping up behind you precious little baby from your beach blanket on the shore.
As someone who is personally terrified beyond belief of sharks and alligators, and pretty much anything that swims with huge teeth, this all makes me personally see things a little bit differently. I think that this information could show people that sharks aren’t the ones to fear. It would surely help my family to laugh in my face when we go on vacations to the beach! With the amount of people that enter the ocean every day there are bound to be shark attacks it is unfortunate but true. The good thing is that most of those attacks do not end up being fatal. So instead of worrying about being ripped to shreds in the next ridiculously close to shore feeding frenzy, splash as much as you want, JAWS most likely isn’t on the prowl.

  1. Like you said parents need to let kids be kids. We bog them down with all the dangers of things like the ocean and beng out doors causing them to be too afraid to try new things. Parents should just let them know and then let them run wild!
