So today is Veterans Day and for the most part I would like to thank my Uncle, Grandpa, and Cousin Jeff for serving our country and keeping us safe. I am in Cleveland right now and all of them are here and I think that this is the first time that I have ever actually been with my grandfather on veteran’s day. I could never serve our country and the fact that they can is amazing to me. It is the most brave and courageous thing a man can do and though I see their flaws I definitely look up to them for being able to do what they do. War is an awful thing, we all know that, my uncle had post traumatic stress after Vietnam and it took a toll on his marriage indefinitely. But the way that he made things right and the letters that I have read that he sent to my grandmother and father are unbelievable. That a person could go through that much trauma and still be a good husband and father afterwards is amazing. My cousin Jeff, my uncle’s son is also now in the marines. He is having a tough time because he didn’t go to college like the rest of us and being in California a million miles away from his best friends and family is really hard on him. He has sacrificed a lot and for that I commend him. It breaks my heart that there are many stories like his out there.

  1. I did 5 years in the Marines and 3 combat tours, war is just a nasty thing. It's good to know that people are thankful for what we do. Thanks
