Blog 45

So this weekend was interesting a lot of people went home and it was weird how quiet campus was. Me and the roommates still managed to have a good time though. Actually we are still having a good time on a Sunday night. This is probably not the smartest idea but considering I only have a 3 day week this week I don’t really care. My roommate turned twenty one this past week and as said previously it sucks to not be twenty one when everyone else is. We went out for her birthday tonight and everyone else was ordering drinks and it was kind of lame that I couldn’t but I guess I just have to wait until April. In other news my grandparents are being moved into assisted living this week and we are going up to help. It’s really sad my grandmother has Alzheimer’s and is going down hill pretty quickly. It’s been tough because her and my grandfather are both in their late eighties early nineties and they are just starting to break down. I know that it is close to their time to go and that they have lived long full lives but it still makes me sad that they will not be with us any longer. I also worry for my parents when their parents die. I can’t imagine how it would be to have my own parents pass no matter what age I was. But then again their relationships are a little more strained then the relationship I have with my parents.

  1. I hate to hear about your grandparents, I really hate changes. I know that it is what life is about, but changes like this are so hard to accept.

  2. Yeah my grandma is almost 90 and she has Alzheimers and it is a really sad thing. My grandma's mom had it really bad and it got to a point where she didn't even know who her own family was. I am just hoping that my grandma never gets to a point like that. My grandparents on my mom's side are in their 90s but they live with my uncle so they don't have to be in assisted living home. I'm really glad because I know both of them would hate it.

  3. I wish I had a three day week. It sounds like you are going to have a preety easy week this week. I really want your grandparents to get better. I'll pray for the best for your family.

  4. I'm really sorry. :( I don't even like imagining the time being close for my grandparents. My mother is extremely attached to her parents and it's even worse that they live all the way in Mexico. So, I don't like imagining how hard it will be eventually when their time comes. I mean, no one can live forever but it's still frustrating and sad. :(
