So on the topic of science fiction..as much as I have never been, and will never be, a Trek-y or big into Star Wars. I do believe that this class has at least introduced me to science fiction. Though I would still probably not watch it on my own I did enjoy it while we viewed it in class. When we first started having to watch the episodes I dreaded having to watch it the first night but as time went on I really started to like Firefly and as time went on and we watched a few movies and other things in class I guess I’d say now that it isn’t that bad. My life won’t revolve around science fiction. You probably won’t see me at any conventions anytime soon but the next time my Dad asks me to sit me down and watch Star Wars with him maybe I’ll be a little bit more likely to say maybe instead of no. I came to realize that it was basically the same plot line as most of the shows we watch today just set in outer space and other weird places. That made it a little easier to handle. The only real problem I had with any of them was Battlestar Gallactica and the fact that robots were people. That one was a little hard for me to grasp but who knows maybe I’ll bit my tongue in a couple years when the government actually comes up with things like that.
